Dayton Area Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. and Abolition Ohio Promote Awareness of Human Trafficking

Beta Eta Omega, Rho Omega and Tau Lambda Omega Chapters and Abolition Ohio worked collaboratively to promote awareness of Human Trafficking. The event was held on October 15, 2011; from 9 AM to Noon at the University of Dayton. The guest speaker was Anthony Talbott co-founder of Abolition Ohio of Dayton, and lectures on global politics in the political science department at the University of Dayton. Abolition Ohio is a local organization whose mission is to rescue and restore victims of Human Trafficking. Thirty-five individuals attended the workshop and participated in interactive and informative training. Everyone was energized and made a commitment to share information and awareness of this form of Modern Day Slavery. Participants made a commitment to the “Mine plus Nine” campaign by taking ten informational cards, keeping one for themselves and sharing the cards with nine other individuals.
